Koya

When we were designing interiors of a holiday house in Masurian Lake District, we linked it to architecture of local, traditional cottages. We wanted to create a place which will closely correspond with the wild nature of the Land of Thousand Lakes and resemble its soul.

NATURE.

Wood, rattan, natural fabrics and limestone lead the way in this project. Limestone, as a theme colour, is present in Monaco Grey stone and paint. Together, with visible wooden ceiling joists, closely resemble interiors of traditional Masurian cottages. The lasting touch of this harmonious composition is microcement.

CRAFTMANSHIP.

References to tradition are also noticeable in the richness of craftsmanlike elements, which create the very soul of this place. Big and characteristic flower pots from Vierkant Atelier are placed beside the foot of the staircase. In the living area, which is composed of open kitchen and sitting area, the most striking elements are lamps from Ukrainian manufacture named Yalzani Objects – in shape they remind of broken in half egg shells. Curtains made from hemp add to the overall coziness. Braided look, which oozes a rural and holiday feeling, is the main theme of this place in tandem with rattan.

SPACE.

Harmony, simplicity, subdued palette and human-friendly materials give an opportunity to relax and calm the senses. In the 500 square meters of total area craftmanship meets the best European brands. Glazings which let in lots of sunlight, carefully chosen details and references to Masurian architecture create unique atmosphere of this modern, summer resort.
